Privacy policy
The honest summary: we collect almost nothing, on purpose.
What we collect
Newsletter email addresses. If you sign up for the newsletter, we store your email address, the date and time of your consent, and nothing else. The list is used only to send the newsletter described at signup — rate alerts and PFD-season notes. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list.
Basic technical logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting infrastructure records standard technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested) in short-lived server logs used for security and site operation.
What we never collect
- Loan applications or any borrower information — no income, credit, loan amounts, or financial details, anywhere on the site.
- The calculators on this site run entirely in your browser. The numbers you enter are never transmitted to us or stored.
- We do not sell, rent, or share the newsletter list with anyone.
Affiliate links and third parties
Comparison pages contain affiliate links to licensed lenders. When you click one, you leave this site; the lender's own privacy policy governs anything you provide there. Affiliate networks may set tracking parameters on the outbound click so a commission can be attributed — they do not receive any information about you from us.
Analytics and cookies
We aim to use privacy-respecting, cookie-free analytics. We do not run advertising trackers, and the site works fully with third-party cookies blocked.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
- To have your email removed from our records entirely, write to hello@alaskaloan.com.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the change will be noted on this page with a new effective date.
